The Proud

James 4:6, “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the PROUD, but giveth grace unto the humble.”

The word “proud” refers to “one who is ‘appearing’ or ‘showing’ one’s self above others….” No wonder God resists them. Jesus said, “ye are of your father the devil, and the lust of your father ye will do.” (John 8:44).

The glory of the children are their fathers (Proverbs 17:6).

Isaiah 14:13-14, “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.”

The proud children of the devil exalts themselves above others, like their father; they think more highly of themselves than they ought to, like their father; they seek their own glory, like their father, etc., etc.

We thank God for the pastor HE gave us to warn us, and to teach us in all wisdom; that he may present us perfect in Christ Jesus. By the word of God our pastor has helped (and is helping) us to have the mind of Christ, that is, he teaches us to strive to maintain a state of humility before the Lord … among many other things.

The Lord Jesus made Himself of no reputation. So, He being our Father and Glory, we ought to strive to be and do the same as He did.

The Lord counted us worthy to give us a pastor according to HIS OWN HEART WHO IS FEEDING US WITH KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING. Amen!!!

I am reminded of the people described in 2 Timothy 3:3, who are “…Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good….”

They hate God, but appear to be godly, and do not suffer any persecution. Instead, they perpetrate and commit murder by their unrelenting hatred …and… they cause others to be overthrown in their faith and make them worse than the Pharisees who made even “one proselyte … twofold more the child of hell than themselves.” (Matthew 23:15). Disgusting!

  • I absolutely liked examining your own personal story. It made a few great factors I became just hunting for this information for a while. Following five several hours involving constant Googleing, lastly, I managed to get it in the internet site. I actually ponder what’s typically the Google’s concern that will not get ranking this informative website nearer to the most notable. Typically, the most notable websites are chock full of junk.
